Zone 7

Zone 7 is an outermost slum that borders Zone 9 North West. While the Zone 9 is a utterly lawless ruin, Zone 7 is considered to be a lay by region leading back into Dirtside proper. Nevertheless, while more densely populated, it is still just as lawless as Zone 9 with local gangs controlling most of the turf. The recent coming of Cicatrix Maladictum and the Zone 9 Gold rush, most of the gangs have cleared out of the area, beyond some token resistance and now the territory open to new gangs.

Zone 7 mini-campaign

Zone 7 is the testing ground for the main campaign This is playing by ear to see how things are.

The Region

Zone 7 is dominated by the road and Mag Lev and roadway running through the Zone. The Mag Lev and dominate the industry in Zone 7. The inhabitants of Zone 7 are largely transient workers employed by Kotu. The Mag Lev system running north runs primarily to the Space Port and secondarily to Pinnacle Mountains. Van Saar and Orlock Houses have traditionally competed for maintenance subcontracts from Kotu, with Orlock having held the contracts for the last 20 years.

Locations

Roadside Rest is the only waterhole in the region and it's inhabitants are dominated by the transient workers. There are a number of locals that are regulars at the Rest, notably "Weird" Don, a drunken gunslinger who sells his guns to the highest bidder.
Territory type: Drinking Hole

The Dome history goes back more than 100 years (or so they say) to when Goliath controlled the roadway north. Whether this is true or not no one can say however the fighters are the dome do attract a large number of Goliath pit fighters. Notably the "Dome" itself is completely enclosed in a cage which can be electrified at a moments notice - in the last two years the promoter (who refers to himself as "The Volt") installed a Decibel Meter, having the electrified wiring activate when the roar of the crowd dies down
Territory Type: Fighting Pit

Crushers Cards and Craps Crusher 20 years ago was a renowned Bounty Hunter in Dirtside, famous for his bionic arm converted from an industrial vice. However Crusher was almost as renowned for his gambling as his capability. Having long retired from hunting criminals, Crusher enjoys the quiet life with his gambling den and is happy to cooperate
Territory Type: Gambling Den

"Honest" Hans rumour has it that Han was once a Adept Biologis attached Haden Corporation, but fell afoul for some reason of both the Mechanicus and Haden Corp. What this was there are 100 different stories to tell. It is known that Han shows up on no wanted lists or matches any descriptions, so these could just be that, wild stories of Zone 7. Those Gangs he is friendly with he will allow one of his orderly Octavian to accompany the gang and patch up fallen fighters.
Territory Type: Rogue Doc Shop

Mom and Pop Pott's are notoriously reclusive
Zone 7 Tenement is the main housing projects for the permanent residents of Zone 7, the rest of the Zone being made of up temporary housing for the transient workforce. To call it a squalid may be somewhat generous, each tenement little more than a 6 foot by 6 foot cell. To "make it" in the tenements is to be hired by House Orlock or Kotu to work on the Mag Lev or Roadway, and so many youths are eager to join a gang as an alternative.
Territory Type: Settlement

Maggers Rest Mag Lev workers are commonly referred to as "Maggers". Maggers Rest is a a Synth Still that has existed since as long as anyone can remember. Territory Type: Synth Still.

Zone 9 Road toll borders the roadway through into the Zone 9 slums. Already starting to sort far higher overhead than the rest of the Zone, it sits only 200 metres below Plate 1 and is a massive roadway and Mag Lev system. It is one of the few areas of the territory assuredly not controlled by the local gangs. Instead local gangers buddy up to the local Corporate guilders, making friends with the decision makers and foremen and offering free protection when they wish to enjoy the sights of the Zone. In return guilders and corporate employees will give favourable rates to those sold into slave labour.
Territory Type: Toll Crossing

The Ruins are rumoured to have been the original construction workers hab blocks when Zone 7 was contructed thousands of years ago. Natives maintain that this is not the case and maintain that it was in fact the one of the original hamlets that the Natives lived in before the coming of the Invaders, the distinctly none Imperial ruins may have some truth to this. Whatever the truth, no proper habitation has returned to the Ruins in years, and is only occasionally picked over by scavengers.
Territory Type: Old Ruins

The Crawlspace While the ruins have an uncertain past, everyone knows the story of the Crawl spaces. The Delaque, being construction workers for most of Dirtside, made sure to keep their secret entrances to anywhere and everywhere on Dirtside, just like Necromunda. Several attempts have been made to destroy the entrances, but all have failed, either failing to get them all or more often changing their mind and deciding to use the Crawlspaces for themselves.
Territory Type: Needle Ways

Sledge and Lyon was the story of two Orlock brothers who after working long and hard together to build a working Hab Block for the Transient workers. Centuries have passed since the storied war, but the Hab was never rebuilt.
Territory Type: Collapsed Dome/Hab Block

Water and Power is perhaps one on of the most important areas of Zone 7 as it runs the meagre power to the Zone, and more important the lighting rigs on the road high above. The contract has long remained with Van Saar but frankly, the Corporations don't care which gang claims profits or advantage as long as the roadways are not interrupted
Territory Type: Generatorium

Neesons Claim has kept the name of it's discoverer, Rax Neeson. Bitter battles have been feuded over the claim for the riches it contains. The recent Pox outbreak has meant it has gone untended and is ready to be seized by any interested party.
Territory type: Archeotech Site.

The Bazaar:  is the major market within the territory. While the main true credit makers are the Weapons from Gun Town and Neesons Claim, the truth is that excess slag, raw materials and foodstuffs come to the Bazaar to supply the few local residents.
Territory Type: Tech Market

The Throughpass is a treacherous and ruined territory, only inhabited by ne'er do wells and mutated creatures. Over the years multiple Native raiding parties have made this their warcamp to strike at Neesons Claim and the Bazaar, hoping to ruin the the infastructure of the Zone in one sweeping attack.
Territory Type: Wastes

Gun Town Takes a large portion of the Slag and scrap harvested from the territory and turns it into working weaponry for the Zone. Not overly fussy on who they serve, they have been long in place since the invasion. While they do supply other items, they are most known for the namesake
Territory Type: Workshop

Cains Tip takes both the refuse from the Zone and the first from the road and gathers in one place, whether broken lights or barriers or ruined detritus, it matters not to the workers of the tip.

Those that control this territory are able to syphon off some promethium, which has long lead to fueds with Cawdor seeking to bolster their Crusade, and the Van Saar seeking to protect their interests.

Saint Hennin Shrine though not formally recognised by the Ecclesiarchy, that hardly matters to the adherents of the Redemptionist Cult. Hennin was said to be one of the first Cawdor Pilgrims to the Aleph sector and lead a crusade against the unbelievers. The Cult attributes many miracles to Hennin, and remains a prominent figure in the Cult.
Territory Type: Bone Shrine

Fungus Finley's was home to the Zones resident oddball, Fin Finley. Fin would often make utterly outrageous claims like he discovered the secrets of Plasma Drive and knew how to make anti grav plates. Inevitably all these claims of inventions involved the use of some of his fungus. Fin is reputed to have died when the Pox began and so his cultures are up for grabs
Territory Type: Stinger Mould Sprawl
